24 Free Domain & Network Intelligence Tools for Website Owners and IT Professionals
A domain name is more than an address — it's the foundation of your online presence. The DNS records behind it route your email and web traffic. The SSL certificate on it signals trust to every visitor. The IP it resolves to determines how fast it loads for users around the world. And its history — who owned it before, whether it's been blacklisted, how old it is — affects your SEO and email deliverability right now. Our collection of 24 free domain and network tools gives you full visibility into all of this, instantly and without any login.
WHOIS Lookup — Find Out Who Owns Any Domain
Before you bid on an expiring domain, try to contact a website owner, or investigate a suspicious URL, the first step is always a WHOIS lookup. Our WHOIS Lookup queries the global WHOIS database and returns everything publicly available: the registrar, registration date, expiry date, name servers, and registrant contact information. Note that many registrants now use privacy protection services (GDPR compliance made this common in 2018), so you may see proxy contact details rather than the owner's real information. The registrar and renewal date, however, are almost always visible — and the renewal date is particularly useful when evaluating an expiring domain.
DNS Lookup — Query Live DNS Records in Real Time
DNS problems are among the most common causes of website and email outages, and they're notoriously hard to debug without the right tools. Our DNS Lookup queries live DNS servers for any domain and record type you choose:
- A records — the IPv4 address your domain points to
- AAAA records — the IPv6 address
- MX records — which mail servers receive email for the domain
- NS records — the authoritative name servers for the domain
- TXT records — SPF, DKIM, and DMARC email authentication records, plus Google verification codes
- CNAME records — domain aliases pointing to other hostnames
Web developers use this to verify that DNS changes have propagated. Email administrators use it to confirm SPF and DKIM records are in place. System administrators use it to audit name server configurations before and after a migration.
SSL Certificate Checker — Catch Expiry Before Your Visitors Do
An expired SSL certificate turns your website from trustworthy to terrifying in an instant. Browsers display a full-page warning, visitors leave, and search rankings drop. Our SSL Checker connects to any domain, retrieves the current certificate, and shows you the issuer (Let's Encrypt, DigiCert, Sectigo, etc.), the expiry date, the certificate chain validity, and whether the certificate covers the exact domain you checked (including www vs non-www). Run this tool regularly on your production domains — especially if you manage certificates manually rather than using auto-renewal.
Email Deliverability — SPF, DMARC and MX Records
If your business emails are landing in spam folders, the culprit is almost always a missing or misconfigured email authentication record. Our tools cover the full authentication stack:
The SPF Checker retrieves your domain's SPF TXT record and validates its syntax — checking for common mistakes like too many DNS lookups (the 10-lookup limit is a frequent cause of deliverability failures). The DMARC Checker shows your current DMARC policy (none, quarantine, or reject), the reporting email addresses, and whether your policy is strict enough to protect against email spoofing. And the MX Lookup confirms which mail servers are configured to receive email for your domain and their priority order — useful when switching email providers.
IP Lookup and Geolocation
Our IP Lookup tool accepts any IP address or domain name and returns its geographic location (country, region, city), ISP, ASN (Autonomous System Number), timezone, and approximate coordinates. This is useful for verifying CDN configurations, understanding where your traffic originates, troubleshooting region-specific outages, and investigating suspicious traffic sources. The Reverse IP Lookup goes further — given an IP address, it shows all domains hosted on that server. Useful for shared hosting analysis and competitor research.
Blacklist Checker — Protect Your Email Reputation
Getting your domain or IP address onto an email blacklist is easier than you think — a compromised server, a spam complaint spike, or simply sharing a hosting server with a bad actor can do it. The consequences are severe: your emails don't reach customers, colleagues, or leads. Our Blacklist Checker tests your domain or IP against over 100 major blacklists simultaneously and shows exactly which ones (if any) you're listed on. If you are listed, it provides the de-listing instructions for each blacklist — most have a self-service removal process that takes a few minutes if you've resolved the underlying issue.
Website Intelligence and Diagnostics
The Tech Stack Detector analyses any website and reveals what technologies it uses — the CMS (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow), JavaScript frameworks, analytics tools, CDN provider, hosting provider, and more. This is invaluable for competitive research, prospecting (knowing a site runs WordPress before a sales call), and technical due diligence. The Website Down Checker verifies whether a site is down for everyone or just for you — useful when you can't tell if it's your network, your browser cache, or the site itself that's the problem.
