The World Trade Centre (WTC) was a commercial complex in lower Manhattan. It was around a 16-acre spread that contained a large plaza, 7 buildings, and shopping mall that connected to six of the buildings. The attractions of the complex were the Twin Towers. This tower was the tallest building in New York City. The collision caused a massive explosion. On September 11, 2001, the entire complex was destroyed in a terrorist attack carried out by al-Qaeda, an Islamist extremist group. This tragedy has come to be referred to as “9/11”.

Due to heavy continued damage and the resulting fire the twin towers ultimately collapsed. After hearing about the other attacks on WTC, passengers on the 4th hijacked plane, Flight 93, fought back with terrorists and the plane crashed into an empty field. That was western Pennsylvania about 20 minutes by air from Washington. 45 people were killed on Flight 93.

If you don’t know what organization are responsible for this attack, they are Al-Qaeda is an international Islamist extremist terrorist network, which was founded in the late 1980s by Osama bin Laden. He is the main character for most terrorist activities. Thanks to the U.S. military operations on May 1, 2011, Laden and others were killed, who were involved in the war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.
The aim was to bring down the US governments in the Middle East, and elsewhere in the Muslim world. Actually this organization didn’t have the capacity to destroy the US military so they planned to attack on WTC and intension of attacks were planned to reduce American support for many of these governments.
This incident was the worst nightmare for Americans, which is very difficult to forget. Not only the US but so many countries will remember the 9/11 date in the memory of those innocent people who were killed in this brutal terrorist attack.
